Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
A: After 10–20 minutes of exposure to visible light or UV light, MHB photoluminescent pigment emits continuous blue-green afterglow for more than 12 hours (measured to 0.3 mcd/m²). Brightness and glow duration vary by grade: MHB-5 is the highest performance grade, MHB-4 is mid-range, and MHB-3 is the economy option.
A: Unlimited. The charge-and-glow cycle can be repeated indefinitely without measurable loss of brightness. Under proper storage conditions, pigment shelf life exceeds 10 years. So the life service of your glow in the dark powder depends on the carrier medium (paint, resin, plastic) rather than the pigment itself.
A: Yes. our strontium aluminate photoluminescent pigment is non-toxic, non-radioactive, and skin safe. It is compliant with EU REACH, RoHS, and ASTM standards. Suitable for most consumer and industrial products.
When handling raw pigment powder in production, standard dust precautions (mask, gloves, eye protection) are recommended as with any fine inorganic powder.
A: MHB photoluminescent pigment is widely used across industrial and consumer manufacturing. Common applications include:
| Application Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Paints & Coatings | Solvent-based and water-based paint and coatings |
| Plastics & Resins | Epoxy resin casting, injection molding (PP, PE, ABS), fiber drawing |
| Printing Inks | Screen printing |
| Safety Products | Evacuation signage, marine safety, floor markers |
| Consumer Goods | Toys, novelty items, watch dials, jewelry, cosmetics packaging |
| Ceramics & Glass | Ceramic glaze, glass |
A: Yes, we offer encapsulated version, which has the same glow performance with full moisture resistance. It can be used for water-based paint and ink, and outdoor environments.
A: Here is a general guide on choosing the correct model and grain size.
| Grade | D50 (μm) | Recommended Applications |
|---|---|---|
| B | 95±10 | Casting, pouring, ceramic, glass |
| C | 60±5 | Brush / roller coating, thick film coating |
| D | 40±3 | Screen printing, injection molding |
| DE | 30±3 | Fine screen printing, roll coating, thinner films |
| E | 15±3 | Spray painting |

A: Optimal loading depends on your base medium, film thickness, and brightness target. We recommend adding 5-50% by weight. For example, 15–25% by weight in solvent-based paints and coatings, 5–15% in plastic injection molding and masterbatch. Always use transparent or semi-transparent base for best results. Try avoiding other color additives because it can significantly reduce afterglow brightness. Start at the lower end of the range and test before full production.
A: Yes. As the leading factory in photoluminescent industry, we prodvide OEM and ODM service. Customizable parameters include afterglow intensity grade, particle size distribution, and waterproof encapsulation. You can also send us existing samples for us to match. Contact us with your technical requirements to begin the discussion.
