MHR-8130 Photoluminescent Reflective T/C Fabric Introduction

MHR-8130 is a innovative T/C fabric that can not only reflect light but also glows in the dark. The fabric's afteglow intensity meets Class C per ISO 17398 (The standard for safety-related applications), so it can keep the user visible in low-light settings such as mining, night deliveries, or emergencies like power outages.

Woven from a polyester-cotton (TC) blend, it has a soft hand feel and stays breathable during long wear. Frequently Asked Questions

How long can photoluminescent reflective fabric glow?

MHP-8130 photoluminescent reflective fabric is made with strontium aluminate photoluminescent pigment, which charges from daylight or indoor light and then releases that energy as an afterglow in the dark. Its afterglow intensity is tested to meet ISO 17398 Class C, which is over 150 mcd/m² at 10 minutes test point and over 20 mcd/m² at 60 minutes test point.

The afterglow stays visible for over 12 hours, measured down to the 0.3 mcd/m² perception threshold, which is the minimum level of light that the human eye can recognize. Therefore, this dual-function fabric can act as an emergency guidance and safety back-up during emergencies or in dark environments.

What is ISO 17398 and what does Class C mean?

ISO 17398 is the international standard that classifies photoluminescent (glow-in-the-dark) safety materials by how bright they glow and how long the glow lasts. Each class specifies the minimum luminance (mcd/m²) the photoluminescent material must maintain at 2, 10, 30, and 60 minutes after the light source is removed.

Class C is a sub-classification from ISO 17398, which is the afterglow intensity level required for safety signage and evacuation systems.
